HCL News caught up with Ryan Feldman today – before the kick-off to the HCL1K celebrations at Hustler Casino – to gain his thoughts about looking back and into the future.
What’s it like getting to this point?
It’s pretty cool to look back at the beginning of our journey – putting this whole thing together. The first year… The struggles… All the work we put in. And, to look now: we have a thousand shows – something no other poker show has ever done – the consistency, the big pots, the big shows. We’ve accomplished things we never thought we could accomplish and that nobody else has accomplished. So it’s pretty surreal to think about. We’re motivated to keep going – to accomplish a lot more. A thousand seems like a lot, but we’re still only in the opening stages of our company. We have plans – and there are gonna be big things that happen in the next year or two – that really transform what we’re doing.
Looking back, what are your top favorite HCL events over the last four years?
Off the top of my head, in some order: The Mr. Beast Game, The Neymar Game, The Last Day of the First Million Dollar Game, and The Two Phil Ivey Games – seeing Phil Ivey show up and then seeing Tom Dwan show up. Those games were pretty epic, and they really put us on the map.
Tell us what you’re looking forward to the most in the next 1,000 episodes.
Over the next 1,000 episodes, what I’m looking forward to most is the ways that we’re going to transform this company into something bigger. Right now, we’re just a poker show but we have plans. We’re gonna evolve. We’re going to become something that nobody else has done in poker before. Stay tuned and you’ll see how that looks.
We’re excited. We think it will start happening very, very soon – in the next few months. A year or two from now, when you look back, everyone will view our company as something completely different than it is now. Something way bigger. It’s gonna be a bigger operation. We’re gonna be more global. We’re not gonna be just one poker show. So stay tuned! I’m excited about trying to build this company and create something really special.
